Interpretation of Exercise Stress Test
ST Segments Normal Except
- Borderline 0.5 – 0.9mm
- ST Elevation in areas of prior MI
- T wave inversion
- Pseudonormalization
ST segments Abnormal
- 1 mm Horizontal or Downsloping ST depression
- 1.5 mm upsloping ST depression
- 1 mm Upsloping ST with angina
- >1 mm ST elevation
ST segments Very Abnormal
- >2 mm Horizontal or Downsloping ST depression
- >2.5 mm Upsloping ST depression
- >2 mm ST elevation
Termination of Stress Test
- Drop in BP >10
- Moderate to Severe Angina
- ST Elevation > 1 mm
- ST Depression >2 horizontal or downsloping
- Excessive BP >250 systolic and > 155 diastolic
- Arrhythmia
Features of High Risk Stress Test
- >2mm ST depression
- >1mm at low level of exercise
- ST depression in greater than 5 leads
- ST elevation
- Hypotension
- Ventricular Tachycardia
- ST changes greater than 5 minutes into recovery
